Software that makes flow cytometry accessible to everyone

To get the most out of the C6 Flow Cytometer we created CFlow, a user interface that is easy to learn and easy to operate. However, we did not trade power for simplicity. Instead we paid careful attention to the needs of our customers and worked diligently to meet those needs in an elegant way. Mark Twain once wrote "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead." The same is true for software-creating a simple, easy-to-use, intuitive interface is more challenging than creating complex, difficult-to-use software. We spared no effort to ensure that CFlow makes sense to researchers who use it, not just the software developers who built it.

We partnered with Menlo Innovations (menloinnovations.com), who are experts in developing user-friendly software.  Together we focused on understanding the needs of flow cytometry users and designed system functionality and user interfaces to match those needs. In this process we were joined by many scientists who volunteered to test drive our software designs during the development process. The result is software that is equally accessible to cytometry experts and to researchers trying flow cytometry for the first time.
